Cat and Sasanqua

Still very busy with some new and old projects and other things to do. It is kind of funny and exciting, how stories, ideas and other stuff has been burried within me for such a long time, but now literally flows out of me, mixing up with my "me" and life experience in these days. Sometimes it makes my poor head dizzy, but it's also great fun.

Here is now some new art-work from me. It took me longer to finish than usual, because I worked on other things as well... and the waterbased oils I used there also took some time to dry, before I could paint the next layer.

Well, here it is, Done with polychromos pens, waterbased oils, watercolor and airbrush on paper.
Size is 36x25cm

Shadowpath, my journey back in the past

Just in case you are wondering, what I'm up to at the moment, I'm currently working on the third fox commission and since April on a VERY, VERY old project of mine, which is still very dear to me. It's a comic called "Shadowpath" and I started this in 1995 and stopped in 1999. Now I dug out the old pages and realized I HAVE to redraw and finish it as my characters have suddenly decided to jump up and down in my head again telling me, what they did in the past 20 years and how the story will continue up to now.
In fact, most of them were in my head already, when I was 15 or so, they helped me through times, when I was bullied, misunderstood and alone. They were MY very motivation to start drawing and painting, because they wanted me to tell their story and I went on a lot of epic journeys with all of them. Some died, some new ones came in and I feel honored that some close friends of mine encouraged me to carry on and even went together with my characters and me on that crazy journey.

I never spoke here about this story or that I also did and do comic ever. Simply, because it all slept very deep until the beginning of 2017 and simply because I will probably never publish it, but as I said before, I always take good and trusted friends on a ride to join my charactes and me on that crazy journey, where there is no good no bad, just different shades of shadow.  ^^

Just giving you a very small snippet here. The original story (Part 1) is actually over 500 pages and still going on and on and contains lot's of characters. I'm now redrawing page 244 and having so much fun ^^

German only... sorry... ^^"

Commission for a friend

Working on 2 huge paintings (2 foxes) now.
AND I was really lucky with the paper of my newfound art supply store here.
At first, I was a little bit frightened to do a polychromos/mixed media painting on a 90x60cm Format, but the paper turned out to be very smooth and just great for those pens and also for the blending pen.

I will keep that in mind for my next group show in January.
On top of that, I'm very, very busy at the moment. Working on 2 comic projects... covers and illustrations and one more commission.
Will be an exciting Summer for me.

Commission
Done with polychromos pens, acrylics, watercolor, postercolor and airbrush on thick paper
Format is 90x60 cm

Koipond with mixed media

Here is some more Koi art, done with Polychromos, watercolor, acylics and several layers of black and white airbrush.
Took me a long time to finish. But I learned a lot about Polychromos pens again, especially, that you can paint with them on acrylics and use an alcoholbased blending pen (did so on the lotos leaves).
Size is 27x39cm

Some new art

I'm still amazed how much fun it is to work with Polychromos pencils combined with "mixed media" like airbrush and postercolor. In December I worked on a few new paintings. Now I gut the big 120 pencil set as X-mas present from my father.
Looking Forward to do more with those pens soon ^_^

Here are some new paintings.

Hoffnungsschimmer Anthologie

So much is happening at the moment... and I can finally announce a very special and wonderful project, I was able to take part in to my German friends:

In Hoffnungsschimmer finden Sie
  • Geschichten und Gedichte von:
Alexander Grun, Ava Innings, Bernd Daschek, Bettina Schott, Charlotte da Silva, Curly Sue Glander, Doreen Kirsche, Dorothe Reimann, Grete B., Jil Aimée, Jörg Olbrich, Katharina Rambeaud, Linda Marie Haupt, Mila Summers, Miranda Rathmann, Nicole C. Vosseler, Rose Snow und Stefanie Heggenberger.
  •  Illustrationen von:
Corinna Herntier, Csilla Decsei, Frida Adriana Martins, Julia Takagi, Mary Cronos und Melanie Stoll.

I'm falling more and more in love with the polychromos pens. Working with them alone, is not really my cup of tea though, but combining them with my usual "mixed media" technicque is so much fun !!! ^_^
Worked on this one for several days... done with acrylics, airbrush, watercolor and Polychromos pens.

Some new paintings

Now I finally have more time again to paint and a few days ago I decided to buy Polychromos pens. I never thought it's so much fun to work with them, especially when you combine them with other media, like waterolor or airbrush.

I was totally amazed and blown away, that I instantly sold two of my works with them.
I'll definetelly work more with them in the future.

Some news before the end of the year

Well, before the year ends, I want to update my blog a little. This year was filled with a lot of events, especially in the last 3 months. As you can see I gave an interview for the Fukuoka Bi-ki newspaper about German X-mas and X-mas traditions.

Beside that I finally did some painting again:

And I did 3 illustrations for a book featuring horror, love and crime-stories written by
Constantin Dupien and illustrated by Melanie Stoll and me:
You can purchase the book here (German language only):
and for more info please check the author's page on facebook
and the official trailer:

Here are the 3 illustrations I did, featuring

Horror

Crime

and Love

Currently, I'm working on another illustration project and I also hope to work more with my graphic tablet again in 2014.
